The Project

Dutton Gregory approached us when they had found a potential new building on the same road as their existing one. The building was a completely different style to their current one which would mean that the staff would have to work in an open plan environment; quite a significant change and move forward for the company. It was therefore vital that the space planning was correct and the staff had enough space to work comfortably whilst also including two meeting rooms, a reception area, and sufficient storage. After a few site surveys and consultations with the client, we produced a final plan which we then turned into a full colour visualisation to enable the management team get a good idea of how the finished office would look.

Once the plans had been signed off, we worked in conjunction with the two fit-out companies (one from the landlord and one appointed by Dutton Gregory) to ensure that the floor boxes with the power & data for the new desks were positioned correctly and that the storage wall was installed in exactly the correct position to allow a solid wall to be built in-between the units afterwards.

The office furniture had to be installed in one day and had to run to quite a tight schedule as there was a storage company who were delivering crates of personal possessions towards the end of the day, and the IT department were following behind our fitters to set up the computers and phones the next day! Everything was completed on time and to budget.

Despite initial concerns about the open plan working environment, we have been told that the staff have all settled in really well and have commented that the office feels much more spacious than they had expected. Taking the time to get the space planning correct at the start of the project was a key factor in its success.

With Dutton Gregory and Warrens both based in Winchester we have has a long relationship with Warrens but limited to office supplies. Until recently I did not appreciate that Warrens also provided a bespoke service for planning office space and supplying the furniture for fit out.

Due to Dutton Gregory's continuing growth we needed to expand our offices in Dorset and in September 2016 acquired a new office in Poole. From the outset of the project, attention to detail was critical to us. James Renwick of Warrens took our brief and delivered a modern office space that we are incredibly proud of.

I believe that the success of the project is the result of James and the team at Warrens collaborating closely with our office manager to ensure that they delivered exactly what we required.

I am pleased to say that the whole team exceeded my expectations.
